The Bugle Corp Laiz e.V. |

The bugle corp Laiz was founded in 1982 and today has 37 active and 85 passive members. We only play on natural instruments without valves such as fanfares, hunting horns, bass horns and mercenary drums. Our repertoire includes historical and festive fanfare tunes as well as modern and rhytmic fanfare music. Since 1992 the bugle corp has made two appearances. The standard uniform of the association bares the colours of our native village also the mercenary garments made in the historical style of those worn during the Thirty Years' War. Each of these garments is a unique, designed and tailored by the warer himself. On the decision of the organizer, the bugle corp Laiz appears either in standard uniform or mercenary garment, which is always very popular at historical events.
The activities of the bugle corp Laiz extend from the participation of knight festival performances, castle tournaments, historical processions, carnivals to the general bugle corp meetings both national and international. We would be happy to hear from any interested party both at home or overseas and to answer any questions or to discuss possible appearances at historical or other events. Every two years the bugle corp Laiz hosts its traditional "bugle corp festival of Laiz". Performed against the backdrop of an Imperial army camp from the year 1632 which takes two weeks to construct. Against this backdrop is the realistic depiction of the life of mercenaries, showmen, jugglers and market women who lived during the time of the Thirty Years' War. Among other things, old historical trades like forging, basket weaving, tailoring and wood treatment are demonstrated. Naturally a big procession through the village of Laiz with lots of bugle corps friends, constitutes the highlight of this three day event. If you like to have further information or have questions on our "bugle corp festival Laiz" or the bugle corp Laiz itself, we would be very glad to help and answer you.
Also for the bugle corp Laiz e.V. it isn't only a necessity but an obligation to keep the historical grown traditions alive nowadays and bring it to further generations. If you like to contact us, please send an e-mail or postcard to: An den E-Mail: Fanfarenzug-Laiz@gmx.de
